Types of Pallet Forks

There are several types of forks available on the market, each with their own unique features and benefits. Some of the most common types of forks include:

  1. Standard : These are the most commonly used type of pallet forks, with two tines that are typically spaced 16 to 20 inches apart. They are designed for lifting and transporting standard-sized pallets and can be attached to a wide range of loaders and skid steer equipment.
  2. Floating : These pallet forks have a flexible design that allows the tines to move independently, enabling them to adjust to uneven loads or surfaces. This makes them ideal for handling delicate or fragile materials that require extra care during transport.
  3. Side-shifting: These pallet forks feature a hydraulic mechanism that allows the tines to move laterally to the left or right, enabling the operator to easily adjust the position of the load during transport. This is particularly useful for working in tight spaces or when loading materials onto trucks or trailers.
  4. Telescoping : These pallet forks have a telescoping design that allows the tines to extend or retract, enabling them to handle loads of varying sizes. This makes them ideal for handling materials such as lumber, pipe, or other long objects.
  5. Grapple : These pallet forks have a grapple attachment that allows the operator to grasp and secure irregularly-shaped loads, such as brush or logs. This makes them ideal for use in forestry or land clearing applications.
  6. Pallet fork extensions: These are not technically a type of pallet fork but rather an extension that can be added to standard pallet forks to increase their length and capacity. This allows the operator to handle larger loads or multiple pallets at once.
