General Purpose Buckets
Our General Purpose Buckets are available in a range of standard sizes and formats. They can also be designed to your specific sizes and requirements.
- 1m³ to 8m³ capacity (Other sizes are available upon request)
- Quick hitch or direct mount fitment
- Bolt on reversible wear edge
- Bolt on heel plates
- Trash guard
- Spill guard
- Teeth and adaptors

Designed For Maximum Performance
- Ideal for bulk handling of a wide range of agricultural materials including manure, grain, and wood chip
- Single piece clamp
- Independent twin ram two piece clamp
- Quick hitch or direct mount fitment
- Bolt on reversible wear edge
- Bolt on heel plates
- Fitted with hydraulic cross line relief valve to protect the hydraulic system
- Larger volumes can be moved as the bucket floor opens to release material, as the load centres are kept closer compared to a conventional high tip bucket configuration
- BA Caulkett Clam Buckets utilise Hardox high tensile steels in their design and features high capacity hydraulic cylinders for a positive bucket opening.
- Ideally rams will be covered to provide spill protection

General Purpose Rock Buckets
- Straight edge rock bucket – the best choice for loading easily broken material from banks
- Spade nose rock bucket – when fitted with bolt on edges is the best choice for re-handling of loose materials and aggregates
- When fitted with welded teeth and segments it is the best choice for loading easily broken material from banks
- Quick hitch or direct mount fitment
- Bolt on reversible wear edge

BAC General Purpose Buckets are manufactured using the following materials
- Hardox™ – complete fabrication for abrasive / hard wearing environments
- Hardox™ wear parts- where certain elements need to have harder wearing capabilities
- Domex™ – where a lighter, high strength bucket required
- Mild Steel – S355
- Hard Face Welding can be applied to areas subjected to high abrasive wear

Designed For Maximum Performance
- With a vast knowledge and understanding of the various industries we can help you select the correct bucket specification for your application
- General Purpose buckets are CAD designed and can be built to a customers exact requirements
- Buckets can be matched to any RAL colours
- Physical logos and names can be plasma cut and attached to buckets
- Fleet numbering and ID’s are added to allow for easier identification
- Wrapping can be applied to create a highly visual bucket

General Purpose Bucket Spare Parts
- GP buckets are often worked hard which can lead to damage and wear, irrespective of the quality of manufacture. BAC offer a refurbishment service to either repair or bring it back to original.
- Spare parts for BAC attachments held for next day delivery
- Reversible wear edges for all brands and types of buckets
General Purpose Bucket Options
General purpose buckets are commonly used for a variety of material handling and excavation tasks, and they are available in a range of configurations to suit different applications. One key feature that can vary between general purpose buckets is the type of cutting edge that is used. Here are some of the differences between straight edge, heavy duty straight edge, and light material straight edge with general purpose buckets:
- Straight Edge: A straight edge bucket has a flat, straight cutting edge that is ideal for general material handling and excavation tasks. This type of cutting edge is effective for cutting through a variety of materials, including soil, gravel, and small rocks. Straight edge buckets are typically used for lighter duty applications where the bucket will not be subjected to heavy wear and tear.
- Heavy Duty Straight Edge: A heavy duty straight edge bucket has a thicker, more durable cutting edge than a standard straight edge bucket. This type of bucket is ideal for heavier duty excavation and material handling tasks, such as digging in rocky soil or handling dense materials like asphalt or concrete. The heavier cutting edge provides increased strength and durability, which can help to extend the life of the bucket.
- Light Material Straight Edge: A light material straight edge bucket has a curved, serrated cutting edge that is designed to be used with lighter materials, such as snow, grain, or mulch. The serrated edge helps to prevent material from spilling out of the bucket, and the curved shape allows for easier dumping of the material. Light material straight edge buckets are typically used for tasks where the material being handled is light but bulky, and where spillage or loss of material is a concern.
All rounder. The Straight-edge Bucket is an ideal choice for general purpose load and carry applications where aggregates or loose material need to be re-handled. The bucket body is typically constructed from a thicker tensile steel, whilst the cutting edges and wear plates made using Hard steel
Breaker The Heavy Duty Straight-edge Bucket is typically manufactured from thicker steel with a higher tensile strength. The cutting edges and wear plates fabricated from the same steel as used on the All Rounder . The Heavy Duty Bucket is typically used for load and rock carrying applications and for breaking material from banks.
Load & Carry. The Light Material Straight-edge Bucket made with thinner ( but strong) materials is an ideal bucket for most carry and load applications. Offering an increased cubic metre capacity, makes it a great choice for re-handling lighter bulky materials such as wood chips, sawdust, coke and in the winter snow.
Overall, the type of cutting edge used with a general purpose bucket can have a significant impact on its performance and durability. By selecting the right cutting edge for the specific task at hand, it is possible to improve efficiency, increase productivity, and achieve better results.
